Step 1: GET A MOTHER FUCKING JOB AT A SALON!

Why am I so afraid to walk into every salon I'd ever see myself working in and simply apply?
The true question after you wipe away specifics:
Why am I so afraid?

I've applied at a total of 2 salons. I've called about 4. Only one of these 4 are actually hiring. I had an interview at one of these salons; Angelo Torres Salon. Prospects look pretty good; it's a Paul Mitchell focus (meaning they only carry PM products) and I went to a Paul Mitchell school. The people there seem pretty nice.

It just was not where I envisioned myself. I always thought I'd leave school, get a job as an assistant or apprentice stylist for awhile and just ease into the industry. At Angelo, I'm pretty much on my own. No supervision. No organized lessons from mentors. No hourly wage. Just "here is your station, get your shears ready and get clients into your chair or no money for you! Good luck!" I have to self promote... right out of the gates.

It's so scary. So easy to fail.

But let us not get ahead of ourselves! First I have to actaully get the job!

Monday, August 3rd, I have to go back and perform a cut/color on a model. No pressure.
Excuse me while I vomit.

I'm ready to take the first step. I'm going to get over this and just apply anywhere and everywhere I can remotely see myself working. I will build a clientele if I have to kill everyone to do it!

In the meantime:
Target. Oh lovely, wonderful Target. Thank you for employing me and, in the process, sucking out my soul. Yup, in the meantime I will wear the all too lovely red and khaki ensemble, and throw myself into the depths of retail hell. "Can I help you find something?" If you are looking for my sanity, believe me when I say it is long gone!

To keep things progressing I will work on boosting my self confidence. I plan to exercise more regularly. I plan on practicing my hair stylin' skills. I will slowly begin to dig myself out of some of my debt. I will organize and plan my job search process.

These are all the little steps to get me to the real step: I WANT A FUCKING JOB IN A SALON! ok?! k, thanks a bunch.

Still to come:
Less serious observations and plans.
More serious observations and plans.
Making fun of people/things.
Happenings.
